Happy Summer!
What a great year!! I enjoyed teaching your children this year and will miss them.
Thank you for the gift cards and happy wishes. It was very nice of you all.
Thank you to Anissa and Heather for helping me this year. The meetings and parties for the kids and binding the books, thank you.
Thank you to all the parents who help at home and will continue over the summer. We want the kids to retain all they learned this year.
Please read with your child and listen to your child read to you. Research has shown how reading creates better writers and overall learners. A fun way to spend time reading is by using "Popcorn", not eating but saying the word. Every time a readers says "popcorn" the next readers takes over. That way it's not the same person reading everything.
Please use the multiplication cards your child made. The more comfortable with this concept by third grade, the better start your child will have.
Please ask your child what time it is. Ask what time will it be in 15, or 20, or 30 minutes or what time was it 15, or 20, or 30 minutes ago.
Please read, read, read.
Your children are wonderful people. Thanks for all you do.
Have a great, fun, safe summer.
Smiles,
Mrs. Gentry
