We are almost finished with the CRCT!!  The students have been working so hard!

The Author's Tea will be on Thursday, May 15th at 8:30 AM in our classroom.  I look forward to seeing you there!

A HUGE thank you to the Fran Woodward(Chance's mom), Holly McKinley(Ben's mom), Zdenka Kitagawa(Kobe's mom) , Sarah Regitz(Jack's mom), Laura Miller(Amanda's mom), Beth Goldman(Susannah's mom), and Laurie Waddington (Ashley's mom) for providing the wonderful snacks for CRCT week!  The students absolutely loved them and looked forward to snack time each day!  Also, thanks to Angela Carr for setting up the snack schedule!!

Thurs, March 6

Class pictures will be taken on Tues., March 11th.

The second Book Fair will be held during the week of March 17th.

We will be going to see a play at the new Cobb Energy Center on Tuesday, March 18th.  There is no permission slip or money needed.  This is a part of the Performing Arts that you donated towards at the beginning of the year.  I have everyone's permission slip.

Don't forget to get your New Echota permission slips turned in ASAP.  I am only missing three.  Thanks!

Mon., March 3

Hopefully, you have seen the CRCT practice packet and bubble answer sheet that came how in your child's Friday packet.  This is due on Friday, but they may bring them in before that if they finish early.  Please do not let them write on the packet.  They should mark their answers on the bubble sheet.  This provides great practice for the CRCT.  They will get a new packet each Friday until Spring Break.

There was also a New Echota field trip permission slip in their Friday packet.  We are just beginning our Georgia history unit, and this trip is a wonderful way to see the actual place where the Cherokees lived and the Trail of Tears began.

Wednesday, Feb. 13

Don't forget to bring your Valentine cards tomorrow! :)

Just a reminder that the students have no school on Monday, 2/18 or Tuesday, 2/19.  Enjoy the long weekend!!

Happy New Year!
I want to thank all of you once again for the generous money order you gave me in December!   It was so nice of you!  I used it to buy a large, iron star to go on the side of our cabin.  I have been wanting one for a long time.  Thank you for the kindness and support you have shown me this year.

We are off and running!  The year is flying by and the students are working hard.  Conference week is just around the corner!  Thanks so much for returning the conference forms so promptly.  I look forward to visiting with you soon.

We are studying the following:
Reading-Fiction text
Math-Fractions and Decimals
Language-Adjectives
Social Studies-The three branches of government
Science-Georgia habitats

Mon., Dec. 3

Please drill multiplication flashcards with your child.  Many students have already passed the 11's and 12's, but several are still working on 6's on up.  It is so IMPORTANT that you drill flashcards (that are mixed up) for at least 15 minutes each night.  This is the only way that they will memorize their facts and be ready for long multiplication and division.  Please, please make time to do this every night.  Thanks so much for your support at home!

Wednesday, Nov. 7

Parents, don't forget to send in those "surveys" by next Thursday!  Thanks so much!

THANK YOU!

A HUGE thank you to Mrs. McKinley and Mrs. Kitagawa for sending in the wonderful fall celebration snacks!  The students enjoyed them so much!
