Hi Parents,

First, I want to apologize for not having updated the blog on Tuesday!! Believe me, I tried!!! It just wouldn't load on the template! Again, I'm sorry!!

Second, wow!! is all I can say! I heard from the students that the Math classwork assigned from the substitute yesterday was also sent as homework...........LOTS of it!!!  Apparently, not much time was given to complete it during class, and then it was sent home.  We had only just introduced division with zeros, and I never intended it to go home with little instruction.  The substitute is awesome and I'm sure she didn't mean to cause excess work for the students or you!  I did remind the students about the homework policy (no longer than 30 minutes on an assignment, have you initial it, and done! Of course you make the final decision!!) 

Now for today's homework:  Reading Log, Study Spelling Words, Lit Circle Job, Correct only the problems you missed from last night's homework (p.240-241) Weekly Math sheet.

Working Hard Wednesday

Hi Parents,

I will be at an inservice tomorrow, but Ms. Capistrant  will be here.  I let the students know so they would not be alarmed.

Homework: Math Day 3, Please work on FACTS at home: look on the Tritt website, get some flashcards, etc!!! Finish reading through Chapter 1 of Lit Circle book and do the job, Words Your Way p. 50, study spelling words, Finish Super Writer's P. 31-32. (Most finished Super Writer's, it was classwork!) and of course Reading Log (20 points this 9 weeks!!)

What a wet Halloween!!! My own children didn't even get me candy! Don't worry, I grounded them both!

Homework for Monday and Tuesday:

Reading Day 1 and 2, Reading Log, Lit Circle Job Due Wednesday, Math Day 1 and Day 2, 3X2 Multiplication quiz Wednesday that was postponed last week, Cursive Spelling Sheet and Words Their Way p. 47-49, Lang Arts Review for Monday and Tuesday.

DON'T FORGET THAT THERE IS NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!! I'M SURE YOUR CHILDREN WILL REMEMBER THAT!!

Kickball Thursday

Hi Parents,

Remember all our weekly tests tomorrow (Math, Reading Spelling) plus Explorers Test and 3X2 digit multiplication!!

Homework: Daily Math, lit circle job, finish a morning sheet if not done in class (on money and possessive nouns)

After all the testing business is done, the students should enjoy a little activity in the media center with all of 4th grade!! They will tell you all about it tomorrow!!

Homework: Finish Lang Arts Review (most finished in class) Study Spelling Words, Words Their Way p.43-45, Finish Lit Circle Job, Daily Math sheet!!

Parents, I have found the way to your children's hearts!! We finished up our explorer lesson early today, so I allowed them to start (many finished) their homework! You would have thought that I just gave them all a million dollars!! So hopefully tonight won't be so rough!!

Also, the Lang Arts review is BIG!!! It is much more than the quiz will be (same info, but not as much!) Plus the quiz is multiple choice!! So don't be alarmed if the review looks overwhelming, and all of this info is NOT new to them!! (Ex: types of sentences)

Mastery Monday

Hi Parents,

Hope everyone had a great weekend!! Although some of our boys finished up their Baseball seasons, congratulations to Ben J. and Dylan for awesome games last week!!   What incredible athletes we have in this class!!

Homework:  Reading Log, Lang Arts Review (Monday) Math Day 1, Reading Day 1, Cursive Spelling sheet, Don't forget the Lit Circle assigned last week will be checked tomorrow!!

Wednesday is a Lang Arts Quiz (very basic, review tomorrow)

Friday is Quiz Day!! Reading and Math weekly tests, Multiplication 3X2 digits plus some division, Explorer Test (Use note sheets as study guide and practice throughout the week) and Spelling Test!! Whew!!
