Last week of homework!!!  Please have your child return it Friday.

Field Day

Field Day is TOMORROW, Wednesday, May 14th.  Please have your child bring a water bottle with his/her name on it and a hat.  The children should have sunscreen applied before coming to school.  If you are volunteering to help out on field day, it would be in your best interest to arrive by 8:30 A.M.  You need to go straight to the gym to pick your activity and instruction card up.  The earlier you arrive, the better the activity you get to choose!!  Thanks for everything!!

Tritt Staff Softball Game

The Tritt staff softball game for Relay for Life is being held TOMORROW, Wednesday, May 14th.  Tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00.  We hope to see you all there!!

Lunch Times for Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday

Due to the field day schedules for the next 2 days, our lunch times have changed.  Wednesday we will eat lunch from 12:08-12:38.  Thursday we will eat lunch from 11:35-12:05.

On Friday we will help out Mrs. Swierski's 5th grade class by switching times with them.  They are going on a tour of High Tower and will not be back before their normal lunch time.  We will eat lunch from 10:55-11:25 on Friday.

Mexican Fiesta Rotations

We began our study of Mexico today.  The children will be rotating through every first grade classroom to learn about different aspects of the Mexican culture/lifestyle. 

Some students have not brought in a brown paper grocery bag and/or a 2 liter bottle of grape or orange soda, or lemonade.  We are still in need of these donations.  Please send them in tomorrow, Wednesday, May 7th.

Homework packets are due on Friday morning.

Zoo Field Trip

Our field trip is scheduled for THIS Thursday, May 1st.  We will be leaving by 9:00 A.M., and we will return by 1:45 P.M.  Please make sure you sunscreen your child before sending him/her to school on Thursday.  Also, please make sure he/she is wearing tennis shoes/sneakers with socks.  If your child has a Tritt shirt, we'd like for him/her to wear it on Thursday as well.  You can also send a hat if you'd like. 

Please make sure to send in a lunch if you're signed up.  There will not be a cooler to store lunches or drinks, so pack accordingly.  Lunches need to be in disposable bags.  Chaperone will be carrying student lunches, so please don't over pack.  The following students have signed up to bring their lunch from home:  Rose Calnan, Brody Hartman, Lauren Kogan, Lauren Matacunas, Chloe Rueckert, and Sydney Sanders.  Chaperone need to bring their own lunches as well.

The following parents have volunteered to chaperone:  Atherton, Calnan, Cardin, Giles, Hartman, Kogan, Matacunas, Rowe, Rueckert, and Walsh.  We sent home the chaperone information letter today.  Please read it very carefully for detailed information and helpful suggestions. 

CRCT

We made it!!  The kids worked hard and did a great job.  Thank you for your assistance during testing last week.  We couldn't have done it without all of you.

No homework this week.  Please have you child read at least 20 minutes each night.  We'd also appreciate your assistance with getting them to bed early, eating a healthy breakfast, and packing a healthy snack.

Field Day T-Shirts

Field Day t-shirt order forms are due in tomorrow, April 22nd.  Any order turned in after that will not be processed.  T-shirts are $12.00 each.

RFL Carnival Wristbands

Tritt's Relay for Life Carnival is this Thursday, April 24th from 3:00-6:00 P.M.  Wristbands are on sale TOMORROW for $12.00 and allow for unlimited "rides".  The "rides" are the big blow up/bouncy things.  Tickets and wristbands may also be purchased on site Thursday.  Food and drinks will also be available for purchase at the carnival.  All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. 

CRCT

The CRCT testing begins THIS Wednesday, April 23rd.  The testing schedule is from 8-10:30 A.M. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week for 1st grade.  If students are absent during the normal testing days, make-ups will be administered Monday and Tuesday next week.  Please be aware:  Your child must be at school on time every day during testing.  Students will not be allowed to check-in until after 10:30 during testing, if they are tardy.  Also make sure your child gets a good night's sleep every night and a healthy breakfast each morning before coming to school.  Remember, breakfast is the meal that will get the brain going.  This is not a stressful situation in our class, please do not put any stress on your child at home.  Relaxation and self-confidence are key in testing well.  Thanks for everything!!

Permission slips and money envelopes were sent home last week for our May 1st field trip to the Atlanta Zoo.  The following parents have volunteered to chaperone:  Atherton, Calnan, Cardin, Giles, Hartman, Kogan, Matacunas, Rueckert, and Walsh.  We have room for 1 more volunteer.  Please read information sheet carefully for details.  Return student permission slip and envelope as soon as you can.

Permission slips and money envelopes were sent home yesterday for our May 1st field trip to the Atlanta Zoo.  We can take up to 10 parent volunteers.  Please read information sheet carefully for details.  Return student permission slip and envelope as soon as you can. 

Spring Pictures

Spring picture packets were sent home yesterday with your student.  These were not prepaid photo packages.  If you would like to purchase the entire package, send your check in by Friday and get $2.00 off.  If you only want to purchase part of the package, take what you want out, write a check for the correct amount, and then send the unwanted photos and check back in the envelope.  Please be prompt with your returns.  Thanks!

Please notice the different homework packet this week.  These are the types of questions/formats the students will experience during the CRCT in a couple of weeks.  Please read and follow the directions stapled to the front of the packet.  It won't hurt to continue to read 20 minutes each night, but there is no reading graph this week.  Please return homework Friday morning.

Crazy Hair Day

Crazy Hair Day is this Friday, April 4th.  As if Friday won't be crazy enough, your child may come to school with a crazy hair style.

Hat Day

Hat Day is this Thursday, April 3rd.  Students can bring $1.00 in anytime between now and then.  All proceeds go to benefit the American Cancer Society.  Participation is voluntary, not mandetory.

Fox Field Trip

Thank you for helping us to have the best dressed class, not only at Tritt, but at the Fox, as well.  The students were absolutely perfect, and they seemed to all have a wonderful time.

Wellness Cards

The cafeteria sent home some cards to promote wellness. Please fill them in starting Monday (3/17) and return next Monday (3/24). Please sign your name at the bottom of the card. They will have two winners from each grade level.We have discussed these cards with the children, so they know what to do.

Tritt's Spring Book Fair

The students filled out their own wish lists yesterday.  Remember, you don't have to come in any more to purchase from the book fair.  You can send back the wish list with cash or check and your child can purchase their books themselves.  More detailed information is on the students' wish lists.  However, if you'd still like to visit the book fair, you can come in during the following days/hours in the Tritt Media Center: Tuesday, March 18, through Thursday, March 20. The hours of the book fair will be Tuesday, March 18, from 7:30 - 8 a.m. and 2:30 - 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, from 7:30 - 8 a.m. and 2:30 - 4 p.m., and Thursday, March 20, from 7:30 - 8 a.m. and 2:30 - 4 p.m.

The hours of the book fair will be Tuesday, March 18, from 7:30 - 8 a.m. and 2:30 - 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, from 7:30 - 8 a.m. and 2:30 - 4 p.m., and Thursday, March 20, from 7:30 - 8 a.m. and 2:30 - 4 p.m.

Monday Assembly

Celebrate Dr. Seuss

Please have your child bring in his/her favorite Dr.Seuss books THIS Monday, March 3rd.  We will be celebrating his birthday by engaging in some fun activities.

Early Release Day

Relay for Life Southern Living Fundraiser

Please join us for our annual RFL Southern Living At Home fundraiser.  It will take place THIS Wednesday, March 5th from 9:30-3:00 in the Media Center.  Don't miss this opportunity to get some really great stuff!!  All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.  There's a new spring catalog with some beautiful and fun items.  Check out the catalogs in the front lobby for yourself.  If you can't make it to the school, you can call in your order to Desiree Mastraccio, our SLAH representative.
