I can tell when they recognize the words we are studying in other texts.  I just need to go faster next year!!

Please note - our students will be helping with our kindergarten book buddies on their field day this Wednesday.  Please send in sun screen and a water bottle on Wednesday as well as Thursday.  Thanks to all our field day volunteers!!  Our lunch times for both days are different too.  In case you want to eat lunch with us on Thursday, it is at 12:20.

As you can see, we're not finished yet!!! Much to do in a short amount of time.  The biography book report projects were the best of the year!!

Finally, thank you for all of the flowers.  I do enjoy that tradition so very much because the arrangement reminds me of my students - each one special and unique.

Don't forget our Author's Tea/Breakfast on Thursday, May 22 at 7:20-8:10.

A few updates:

Mrs. Partow will accept Square One Art orders as late as tomorrow, Tuesday, April 1.  If you had wanted to order something, you still have a chance to do that.  Tomorrow is the absolute last day!

Your child should have a biography to read.  If your child has not selected a book by now, you may have to journey to the public library.  While we have many choices here at Tritt, your child may want to read about someone whose biography is not here.  The public library has a wonderful selection. The due date for this report is not until April 30.   With Spring Break coming and CRCT testing, I wanted my students to have plenty of advance notice.

Baseball Day is coming!!  Every year the 4th graders celebrate the opening of baseball season with a special day filled with activities that  are centered around baseball.    Baseball Day is Thursday, April 3.  Your child is welcome to wear a hat and a baseball shirt advertising their favorite team.  Please note that   this is also our Relay for Life Hat Day.  While your child has permission to wear a hat that day because of Baseball Day, it would still be wonderful if he/she would contribute a dollar towards the American Cancer Society.

Friday, April 4 is crazy hair day sponsored by Tritt's student council.

Spring Break is April 7-11.  Enjoy!!!

An added request - If anyone would like to contribute either a box of tissue or a roll of paper towels, the Family teachers would really appreciate it.  We need a few donations to make it to the end of the year.  Thank you!!

Benson's Business

Are you dreaming multiplication tables yet? Hopefully they are beind called out in the car, before dinner, maybe even right  before a favortie TV show to earn the right to watch it! These are essential to future math skills.

WOW! They are so excited about the nonfiction books they are writing and illustrating on their endangered animals. I have been reading many nonfictions to them for the past weeks. Today we studied the different lay outs and approaches to writing nonfiction - as a narrative, question and answer book, etc. We will work on these all next week and I can't wait to see the finished projects.

Congratulations to Brian Daniels who was a featured writer of the week on Tiger Talk News today. He did an incredible job reading his piece on the rock cycle, written from the point of view of the rock!

Thank you for all the wonderful donations for Fair Oaks Elementary! The word of the month is generosity and the students are seeing a great example of that. If you haven't had a chance to contribute there is still time! Monday is the last day for donations and then we'll deliver them.

The AR goal is 6 points and they have until the end of January. Happy reading!

Wahsega was wonderful!! YOUR children were very well-behaved.  A huge thank you to our super chaperones who took  time away from families and work to help keep us safe and organized.

Our next field trip is on Thursday, November 8 to the Coca Cola Museum.  Hopefully, we will see examples of simple machines.  (I have not been yet.)  We will also eat lunch at the park.  If your child brings a lunch from home, please put everything in throw away items.  Thanks so much.

Time Capsules are due on Thursday too.  We are busy!!

One more thing - if you go out of town over Thanksgiving holidays, please bring back a sample of dirt, yes, I said dirt from the area you visited.  We need a variety of dirt samples for an upcoming Family activity.  The sample can be placed in a jar with a lid, or if you don't have a jar, then a zip-loc baggie will work.
