GRADES K-3: STANDARDS BASED REPORT CARD INFORMATION
The music section of the standards based report card reflects a student's performance in music class of specific skills assessed during a grading period. The following crieteria is used to determine a numerical grade:
3- The student is consistently performing the assessed skill successfully.
2- The student is sometimes performing the assessed skill successfully.
1- The student is rarely performing the assesed skill successfully.
STANDARDS ASSESSED FOR 2nd NINE WEEKS
Kindergarten
Pitch: Describes and sings high/low; loud/soft; fast/slow
Rhythm: Performs steady beat
1st Grade
Pitch: Sings melodies in head voice
Rhythm: Performs simple rhythm patterns using body percussion and instruments
2nd Grade
Pitch: Plays 2 or 3 note melodic patterns
Rhythm: Reads quarter and paired eighth notes and quarter rests
3rd Grade
Applies Knowledge: Plays 5 tone melodies with correct technique
Reads and Notates: Reads and notates half, quarter, paired eighth notes and quarter rests
GRADES 4 - 5: REPORT CARD INFORMATION
O (Outstanding) - Consistently produces or exhibits high quality work and applies learning that meets or exeeds the standard.
S (Satisfactory) - Produces or exhibits satisfactory work and applies learning most of the time. Meets developmental expectations for standards.
N (Needs Improvement) - Produces or exhibits inconsistent work and needs frequent re-teaching and redirecting.
ALL GRADE LEVELS (K-5) ARE ASSESSED ON LEARNING SKILLS AND/OR BEHAVIOR.

The Tritt Tiger Chorus students are looking forward to performing our December holiday program, “In the Spirit”. Our yearbook photo will be taken December 8th.
To participate in each performance and yearbook photo students must dress in long khaki pants and Tritt Chorus blue collared shirts (tucked in).
DECEMBER SCHEDULED EVENTS
Thursday, December 8 - YEARBOOK PHOTO in cafeteria after am announcements
Thursday, December 15 at 8:15 am in Cafeteria for school
Thursday, December 15 at 9:00 am in Cafeteria for school
Thursday, December 15 at 6:00 pm in Cafeteria for PTA
Monday, December 19 at 10:00 am at Sunrise Senior Living on Johnson Ferry Road
The evening of the PTA performance students should arrive at 5:45 pm and report to Room 401 near cafeteria (PE Office).
On Monday, December 19th students will be transported by bus to perform at Sunrise Assisted Living East Cobb. Permission Form and White Fee Envelope are due by Wednesday, DECEMBER 14TH.

In December, all 4th grade music students will begin the study of the wind instrument, the recorder. The plastic Soprano Baroque Recorder will be used in class. Each student is encouraged to purchase or borrow his/her own recorder. INFORMATION AND ORDER FORM can be downloaded from this page.

Rhythm: Performs repeated patterns (ostinati) with accuracy
3rd Grade
Applies Knowledge: Accurately sings melodies in the range of an octave using head voice (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do).
Describes and Analyzes Music: Decribes speed (tempo) and volume (dynamics) using appropriate music vocabulary.
GRADES 4 - 5: REPORT CARD INFORMATION
O (Outstanding) - Consistently produces or exhibits high quality work and applies learning that meets or exeeds the standard.

The Tritt Tiger Chorus outfit for performances and yearbook photo will be long khaki pants and Tritt blue collared shirts. Chorus shirts can be purchased or borrowed from a sibling or former Chorus member.
Students received information and shirt order forms at rehearsal on September 28th. The deadline for orders is Friday, October 7th. No late orders will be accepted.

Tritt Tiger Chorus begins Wednesday, September 7th. Interested students must return a signed Chorus Agreement to the Music Room by Tuesday, September 6th to participate.
